Abstract:
The establishment of the Washington University Program Administrators Council (WUPAC) seeks to address significant challenges encountered by program administrators within graduate medical education (GME)consortiums, such as insufficient resources, professional isolation, and elevated turnover rates. By cultivating a supportive and collaborative environment, WUPAC endeavors to enhance professional satisfaction and facilitate career development for residency and fellowship coordinators. Central to its initiatives are the Program Administrators Council Educational (PACE) Sessions, which focus on disseminating best practices through lectures conducted by seasoned coordinators, alongside the Annual Program Administrator Survey, which evaluates job satisfaction, opportunities for professional growth, and the efficacy of support systems. Additionally, WUPAC has instituted Task Forces dedicated to mentoring, preparation for TAGME certification, and the enhancement of collaboration via a centralized platform. Collectively, these initiatives aim to establish a robust support network, empowering program coordinators to adeptly navigate the evolving landscape of GME. Serving as a foundational resource, WUPAC promotes connection and collaboration, thereby reinforcing the shared objectives of GME coordinators within a consortium framework.
