Abstract:

Burnout among medical trainees remains a critical challenge within Graduate Medical Education (GME ). Program coordinators and administrators serve as essential facilitators in promoting a culture of well-being, which is vital for patient safety, resident retention, and institutional success. This article synthesizes existing literature on burnout prevalence, its impact on training programs, and evidence-based interventions. The implementation of structured wellness programs, reduction of administrative burdens, and fostering of psychological safety can significantly improve well-being metrics within residency and fellowship programs.
